The pool which Ranji was familiar within the Rajputana desert. It was full of muddy water. It was the favorite watering hole for buffaloes and the washboard for women. The forest pool was having crystal clear water and one could see the pebbles at the bottom of the pool. Rani went to visit that pool. But the boys of that area treated her in ill manner and claimed that to be their property. So they insisted on fight with Ranjhi over the pool. Ramjhi won the fight but the boy was not ready to face his defeat. Next day Ranjhi returned for a swim and the boys came again.
