It is a satirical representation of how people pay too much heed and care too much about the negative advice of jealous or sadist people (better known today as haters) and it ultimately leads to their doom. It shows us how in the beginning the nightingale was successful and loved, but in her desire to gain approval of all, she succumbs to the jealous toad's bad advice, who wanted to bring an end to her success. It tells us to ignore advice from jealous people, and never try to be someone else.
