Khairi made the entire forest where she lived famous. she was not a bandit queen but khairi tigers of jashipur. it was exactly 25 years ago when she spent two days and two night with khairi and the menagerie of saroj and nihar . she had read a small news item in the statesman about the latest exploits of a domesticated tigers in the similipal forest of orissa . suddenly it struck her that this was happening in her own state .
