This two-act play shows the tale of two conjoined twins, Chandan and Tara. These two are surgically separated, however, in such a way that the Chandan, the boy, gets most of the favors.
Tara dies due to her seriously disadvantaged life and Chandan is racked up with guilt. He moves to England to forget and even becomes “Dan” there.
This is a story portraying the old eastern customs not being able to overtake Western values, failing miserably. The second-class role of the Indian Woman in the Indian Society and it’s endeavoring to become a serious global power correspond with it’s humongous 1 billion plus population and the levels of technological gains.
Social and cultural customs are place the Indian woman well below the man; that coupled with the centuries old caste system dividing in such a way that the rich get richer and the poor plunge deep into destitution, thereby damaging generations over generations with no solution in sight.
