A Description of the Morning” by Jonathan Swift has many things in common with his other works of prose and poetry. He loves detail, especially that which exposes human weakness but it gives no quarter to vanity. His descriptions of the human body and its functions are a pointer to this fact in 'Gulliver’s Travels'. There is no direct commentary yet the facts speak for themselves. Similarly, in this case too, he makes no bad comment on the morality or quality of the working-class people of London. Yet, when taken together, all the scenes convey an impression of a city that is noisy and dirty.
