The poets wants her lover to love her only for the sake of love.He should not love her for anything else. He should not love her for her smile, her looks or her gentle speech. He should not love her for anything that will certainly provide her comfort. In other words, she does not her to be loved for extraneous things which are sure to change with the passage of time. Love for external things is not lasting.
