The boy asks his father if he should learn math, to which the father says yes so that he could learn to count. The boy asks his father if he should learn French. To which the father says yes, so that it is easier to understand the land of the law.  Then the boy asks his father if he should learn history. To which, again, his father says, yes so that he understands his roots and importance of belonging to a race and land.
