Battle of Blenheim is a that tells about the fight that happened in a place between germany and france. Between the french and the english, in which english won. So, the poem takes place in place where a boy finds the soldiers skull and goes to his grandfather to ask about it. And his grandfather says that it was a great victory by the english over the french. The message that the poem gives is that the war is a futility i.e. it is being foolish to have war because the result by the end of every war is death.
