In this poem the speaker prays to God to give him a peaceful mind where he can calmly and clearly think such that he is able to here to his calm inner voice which would help him to comfort others.
A peaceful and quiet mind is a state of being mentally/spiritually at peace with oneself, with enough understanding and knowledge to keep oneself strong in the face of stress/discord. For the speaker, a quiet mind will help in concentrating better, gives inner strength and power to comfort others
The speaker also prays to to God to give him a healthy body so that he never has to be physically dependent and he is bale to enjoy peaceful walks, and enjoy the joy of leaping and running, perhaps like an active child who enjoys these small things in life.
Last, the speaker prays to God to give a good sense of direction so that he know where he is really heading to in life. When we know where we are heading in life we would be able to make the right choices, face challenges better and to an extent be prepared for the future. Our mind will be free of all confusions and we can be at peace
