The poem starts of when a father saying to his baby ( victor), " don't dishonor the family name and don't ever ever tell us lies". Victor soon grows up and goes horse riding with this father shortly before his father dies of a heart disease on a frosty December, following this burial, Victor's uncles find him a job at the age of 18 at the Midlands Counties Bank. He stayed at the Peverel, a boarding house when the clerks questioned him whether he has ever had a girlfriend.

On the first of April, Anna comes to the Peverel to make an impression on anyone including Victor who falls in love with her when they meet of the 2nd, three wedding proposals later, Anna agreed to marry him, she didn't truly love Victor, she thought he was " as dull as the wet afternoon". They tied the knot in early August, but soon in mid September he heard one of the clerks saying,“what fun I had with her in that Baby Austin car” which made Victor cry at the allotments.

Victor looked up at the sky and spoke to his father in the clouds, who admitted he wasn't pleased with him, his father stated that Anna will never truly be his and order him to murder her. When Victor arrived home, Anna was playing card on the table and started to speak to him, who pretend like he didn't hear. Following his father's instructions he grabbed the craving knife and said, "Anna, it would have  been better for you if you had n ot been born", Anna was scared and run upstairs with Victor following her.Victor killed Anna and stood there above the body. They tapped him on the shoulder and took him away in a van with him sitting in  the corner saying, “I shall come to judge the earth someday!”
