'The Snake and the mirror' is a story written by 'Vaikom Muhammad Basheer'.

It is story of a homeopathic doctor. In the story it is described that a snake is looking into the mirror admiring it's beauty.

The house of the doctor was not electrified. And he had lighted one kerosene lamp reading his Materia Medica.

Suddenly he realised that a snake was landing on his shoulder.

In the story, it was described that due to the presence of mind, the doctor was saved.
