Theme of the story ‘Star Ducks’ is simplicity of village folks.
The ‘Star Ducks’ tells the story of a city reporter who was called in to report a ‘strange plane crash’ in a village. He finds out that it is in fact, an alien landing and that the aliens had contacted the Alsop couple in the village.
He was told by the Alsops, that the aliens had visited earlier and they had exchanged space eggs for chicken eggs. Now they had come back for more as the chicken eggs given earlier did not hatch. When the reporter asks what had become of the space eggs, he was told that they hatched into Star Ducks!
‘Star Ducks’ was written by Bill Brown (born 1910), who was an American journalist and short story writer.

Ward, a reporter of the Times got a bluff call from someone that reported to him that there was an airplane crash near Farm. He went there to discover more about that incident that he should write in his newspaper story. When he left the car he could see the place. He stepped into that farmhouse and asked the owner what had been an airplane crash, but he declined and repeated the same information to his missus and she looked a little more intelligent. But she also denied this. They both responded that there was no airplane crash in their wings. The Gathering is attended by his son who has just returned to his father's home following a self-imposed exile. Dahi learns the fate of former classmate Ekdal.
