Chaambali is a fictional story by Shyamala Kumaradas, similar to the story of "Cinderalla". The story talks of a simple, hardworking and honest girl, who is treated like a servant by "Amma" (Chaambali's mother's sister) and Amma's daughters (Moti & Lambi). Pari is magical, a fair godmother and she does all of Chaambali’s chores while she is sleeping. She makes soup, cooks rotis etc. However, Chaambali's hardships end when the prince of Shehzadpur, comes in search of a girl to marry. He wants to learn their true nature and goes to them, without disclosing his true identity. He falls in love with Chaambali's sweet and gentle nature and life changes for Chaambali.

Chaambali depicts the story of a girl who lives with a family where the lady whom she calls Amma and and her two daughters Moti and Lambi ill-treat her. She is treated as a domestic help and not given as basic a need as soap to keep herself clean. Amma is biased and discriminates between Chambaali and her daughters. Still Chambaali remains uncomplaining and works hard doing household chores for the family. Once a prince comes to search for a girl whom he  could marry. He meets Moti and Lambi, but is not conviced about either of them. When he meets Chambaali he was attracted by her beautiful eyes and he chooses to marry her.
