Summary of three enemies by christina rossetti:
- This poem is a reflection on religion and trust in Christ. Another character tells the other character in the first section of the poem that they don't look well. The character is tired, sad, fatigued, and foot sores. The second character replies by comparing the difficulties with those that Jesus faces. In each case, the suffering of Jesus was greater than the suffering of the characters.
- The first person tries to praise the second character in the second section of the poem by telling her she has positive and good qualities. These are young, pure, rich and sweet attributes. The second character is merely humbled by these attributes and replies that Jesus was a much better person than she is.
- The third part of the poem is the devil who tries to lure the character. However the character prays to Jesus and ask him to cover his eyes so that he is not allured and fall for the vanities. The character says he believes in Jesus and calls Jesus wise and righteous and says Jesus to answer him
