The English Teacher is autobiography. Much of Narayan’s individual suffering has gone into the making of this novel. It tells a love story with a difference. It narrate the family life of Krishna a lecturer in English in the Albert Mission College, Malgudi. Though he is thirty years old, he feels bored with life in the nonattendance of his wife and baby daughter. They turn up after a few months, along with his mother. Krishna and Sushila, his wife, guide a happy contend life for several months. But then their house is not quite fancy, and so on an ill-fated day they go out on house to hunt. As ill-luck would have it, Susila gets stung by a flea, suffer from typhoid and dies after a couple of days
The death of Susila is a dramatic blow to Krishna. He is much disturbured and loses all attention in life and in his work at college. The only soothe to him is his little daughter Leela, who now occupy much of his time and thought. He frequently wander about a lotus-pond where he meets a Sanyasi who can talk with spirits of the dead. Through him Krishna is able to talk with the spirit of his dear deceased Susila. Krishna is thrilled, and regains his joy in life.
As regard to US , they change the english language according to them and made their own version in english. They make effective use of effective sentence and create some important words like O.k to communicate the world in different style.
Then, author said that english now being the part of our society so should also better make the "Bharati english' so that Indian english have it's own identity .and world could know that this is ours unique style.
