Summary on "on the top of the world lesson "

Answer:
After a glorious Week with some of the best classical performances one could find, the 2nd Top of the World International Piano Competition came to an end. We can safely say that it turned out to be a tremendous success, with a sold out concert both for the opening, with the 2009 winner Mariangela Vacatello (pictured), and for the Grand Finale, with the 3 finalists and KORK.
What was by the International Jury termed “the toughest competition heat ever”, was carefully picked among the hundreds of pianists that applied to take part, from altogether 47 different countries. Only 22 contestants made it to Tromsø, and of these, Alberto Nosé came out as the proud Winner, becoming the 2nd Italian to make this feat.
Both the runner-up, Ashot Kachatourian (Armenia) and 3rd Prize winner Yaron Kohlberg (Israel) were, along with Nosé, also accepted to play at the CHT Goes Classic – a testament to the quality of their performances, as one has previously only seen the Winner being included, at best.
We can already confirm that there will be a 3rd Top of the World International Piano Competition in 2013, something we already look forward to. Until then we can live on the wonderful memories of this year’s Competition.
Millions of thanks go out to the Contestants, the Jury, the technical staff, the audience, the sponsors, the journalists and everyone else who helped make this such a special event.
