In the first stanza the poet want to say that the orange stripes on the tiger burns like a fire in the night and he asks the tiger which immortal hand or eye creates such a fearful creature as you.

In second stanza the poet asks that from where did the fire in your eyes came from heaven or hell and with what wing did the god go there or where did they get the courage to hold the fire that is in your eye.

In third stanza the poet asks that when you were being created, the stars threw down their weapon and filled the heaven with their tears and did your creator smile to create you when the star threw down their weapons and did he create the lamb too.
