Prof. Mamta Sagar is a poet, writer, academic, translator and an activist writing in Kannada language. Her writings focus on identity politics, feminism, issues around linguistic and cultural diversities. Preetiya Nalavattu Niyamagalu a translation of Elif Shafak's novel into Kannada got her the KuVemPu Bhasha Bharathi Award for Translation (2019). She is honoured with Sanchi Honnamma Kaavya Prashasti, conferred by Ranga Samudra & Kannada Sahitya Parishat of Rajarajeshwari Nagar (2019).
