summary Writing - TASK II : We all know from experience that there is a lot of variation in language. Even if we think that English is one language, it has different realizations depending on the context in which it is used. Any language which is used over a wide area is used differently in different regions. Such vanities are called dialects of a language. We find a lot of such variation in the case of English because it is a geographically widespread language. There are many varities of English even in countries where it is used as a second language. The dialect which is politically and socially most important is referred to as the standard language'. In the case of English there is not only one standard, but many standards. For example- standard British English, Standard American English, Standard Australian English and possibly, standard Indian English. We have considered above the varieties of language according to geographical region But other factors also bring about variations in language. Time is one of these factors. We find that the same language is used differently in different centuries.​
