\mathfrak{\large{\underline{\underline{Given:-}}}}

Focal length of convex lens = +15 cm

image distance (v) = - 10 cm

\mathfrak{\large{\underline{\underline{To find:-}}}}

object distance = ?

\mathfrak{\large{\underline{\underline{Solution:-}}}}

By using lens formula we have,

\boxed{\sf{</strong><strong>\frac{1}{f}  =  \frac{1}{v}  -  \frac{1}{u} </strong><strong>}}

Now, put the value,

\implies   \frac{1}{u}  =  \frac{1}{v}  -  \frac{1}{f}

\implies  \frac{1}{u}  =  \frac{ - 1}{10}  -  \frac{1}{15}

\implies  \frac{1}{u}  =  \frac{ - 3 - 2}{30}

\implies  \frac{1}{u}  =  \frac{ - 5}{30}

\implies u =  - 6cm

If the image distance is positive the n the question becomes wrong.

hence, the object distance from the lens is -6 cm.
