Answer:
Summers in India can be oppressively hot in India. The mercury in at many places could be as high as 48° C. The heat starts rising in the month May and is at peak around June 22, which is also the summer solstice.
Recently I experienced one typical hot day. People were going about on roads with their heads and faces covered. The vendors selling lemonade, cold-drinks, sugarcane juice, soft-drinks, ice-creams, fruit-juice, etc. must be very happy as they had plenty of customers.
At the traffic lights, heat was immense. The engines of the vehicles added to the heat of the sun.
I did not see many birds in the sky. They were sitting in the shade of trees.
