Because it is.
All energy on earth, sunlight, waves and tides, wind and other climate, derives from the energy from the sun. All animals depend on the food chain that has plants using sunlight as energy as the base. Even fossil fuels are the result of earlier lifeforms that depended on sunlight. The only exceptions are the limited amount of geothermal, chemical, and nuclear.

The sun is actually the natural source of light and heat energy. And I agree.
Why ?
The sun is natural its not man made. It is there and no one places it and no one can take it away. Light bulbs may stop working, but during the day the sun is there to give us light. And it's not going to stop working like other man-made sources. e.g Light bulbs, air conditioners.
