The equation will be
4x-5 = 2x+1
4x-5+5 = 2x+1+5
4x = 2x+6
4x-2x = 2x-2x+6
2x = 6
x = 3
Sundaram has thought of 3 as his number
4x-5 = 2x+1
4x-5+5 = 2x+1+5
4x = 2x+6
4x-2x = 2x-2x+6
2x = 6
x = 3
