Sundarbans area is the mangrove delta formed area by the merger of the Ganga, the Brahmaputra, and the Meghna rivers system in the Bengal bay and its spread from the Hooghly river in India in the West Bengal  

It comprises of the open and the closed forest and is filed with the swamps and the mudflats and have barren lands and has an intersection of the multiple tidal streams and channels.

The Sundarbans covers an area of about 10,000 km square. And the habitat provides a home to about the large diversity of the life forms. This forest lies in the vast deltas and is formed by the confluence of the Ganga and the formed by the fringe.
