Sunday was a holiday. All clinics were closed .baban's fever was not decreasing.

  • I boiled some water and dipped a cotton cloth in the water and put it on his head.
  • I did it many times to bring down his temperature to normal.
  • Meanwhile, I gave him a lot of hot water to drink in order to avoid dehydration.
  • I gave him light homemade (hot) food and I opened my home windows for proper air circulation which prevents the patient from suffocation.
  • Because of the application of hot water-dipped cotton cloth, his temperature reduced and became normal.
  • so my tension is gone and I became so happy.

Sunday Was A Holiday. All Clinics Were Closed. Baban's Fever Was Not Decreasing. In this situation I will take the following steps :

Take Rest And Drink Plenty Of Fluids.

In case of high fever, the body tries its defense mechanism to bring the temperature down. one such mechanism is sweating.

Sweating helps in cooling the body, but can also lead to fluid loss, which can cause dehydration.

Adults can replenish lost fluid, by having- juice

sports drinks, broths, soups, decaffeinated tea, etc.

while babies and toddlers can take especially formulated that have electrolytes in them.

TAKE PLENTY OF REST :

A high fever is a sign that your body's defense mechanism is trying very hard to fight the infection.

it is advisable to rest as much as possible with 8-9 hrs of sleep during the night.

COOLING OFF THE BODY.

Cooling off the body by surrounding it with cooler temperatures can alleviate high fevers.

PROCEDURES TO COOL OFF THE BODY INCLUDE:

  • Sitting in a bath of lukewarm water.
  • A sponge bath with lukewarm water.
  • Avoiding too many extra blankets when experiencing chills.
  • Drinking plenty of water at room temperature.

TAKING OVER-THE-COUNTER MEDICATIONS :

Taking OTC medication is the easiest way to treat high fever temporarily.

It is advisable to keep record of the time when medicine was administered so that one can avoid repeating the medication within 24 hours.
