Sunil takes 5 days more than Anil to complete a certain work.

Let x be the number of days taken to complete the job by Anil

Then  number of days taken to complete the job by Sunil be x+5

One day work of Anil = 1/x

And one day work of Sunil = 1/(x+5)

They together work in one day = 1/x +1/(x+5) =[2x + 5]/[x(x+5)

4 days after starting the work , Anil left the work. The remaining work was done by sunil in 5 days .

From this we get,

4 * [2x + 5]/[x(x+5) + 5 * 1/(x+5) = 1 (Complete job taken as 1)

Solving we get a quadratic equation, x^2 - 8x 20 =0

From this we get x=10

number of days taken by Anil =10 days

number of days taken by Sunil = 10 + 5 =15 days
