SP = rs. 4500
loss = 10%
90/100 of CP = rs. 4500
⇒90/100 * CP = rs. 4500
∴CP = 4500 ÷ 90/100
= 4500 * 100/90
= rs. 5000
20% of rs 5000 = 20/100 * 5000
= rs. 1000
∴ to gain 20 % he should sell it at rs. 5000 + rs. 1000 = rs 6000
loss = 10%
90/100 of CP = rs. 4500
⇒90/100 * CP = rs. 4500
∴CP = 4500 ÷ 90/100
= 4500 * 100/90
= rs. 5000
20% of rs 5000 = 20/100 * 5000
= rs. 1000
∴ to gain 20 % he should sell it at rs. 5000 + rs. 1000 = rs 6000

sp = 4500
loss = 10%
then find the CP
let the CP be X
so
X × 90/100 = 4500
X = 4500×100/90
X = 5000
now earn gain to 20%
so
profit = 5000×20/100
profit = 1000
