Positive degree of comparison-

The comparative degree of comparison-

- Sunflowers are prettier than roses.
The superlative degree of comparison-
- Riddhi is the most intelligent student in the class.
- The sunset is the prettiest view.
A sentence that is in the superlative degree, has the highest level of comparison.
- It usually involves either addition of 'est' at the end of the adjective or 'the most' before the said adjective.
- There is a compulsory addition of the article 'the'.
A sentence that is in the comparative degree of comparison, has a mild level of comparison.
- It involves either the addition of 'er' at the end of the adjective or 'more' before the said adjective.
On the other hand, a sentence that is in a positive degree of comparison has the following characteristics-
- There is very less comparison.
