The probability of a tourist visiting either Delhi or Goa is 0.8

Explanation:

  • The percentage of tourists visiting Delhi is 70 and 60% of the tourists will visit Goa and 50% of the total number of tourists will visit both Delhi and Goa.
  • Hence, assuming that the total percentage of tourists is 100%,the probability of a tourist visiting Delhi or P(D)=\frac{70}{100}=0.7 and the probability of a tourist visiting Goa or P(G)=\frac{60}{100}=0.6.The probability that any tourist will visit both Delhi and Goa,P(D and G)=\frac{50}{100}=0.5
  • Hence,in this case, the probability that any tourist will visit either Delhi and Goa or P(D or G)=P(D)+P(G)-P(D and G)=0.7+0.6-0.5=0.8 or 80%

Answer:

The probability of a tourist visiting either Delhi or Goa is 0.8

Explanation:

The percentage of tourists visiting Delhi is 70 and 60% of the tourists will visit Goa and 50% of the total number of tourists will visit both Delhi and Goa.

Hence, assuming that the total percentage of tourists is 100%,the probability of a tourist visiting Delhi or P(D)==0.7 and the probability of a tourist visiting Goa or P(G)==0.6.The probability that any tourist will visit both Delhi and Goa,P(D and G)==0.5

Hence,in this case, the probability that any tourist will visit either Delhi and Goa or P(D or G)=P(D)+P(G)-P(D and G)==0.8 or 80%
