Since we are given the coins of 50 paise that is to be measured with a metre scale, we can do it by using stack method.

Actually metre scale has very large readings, which will be inappropriate to measure the thickness of one single coin. Thus, we can not actually get the thickness of one 50 paise coin using a metre scale.

So we can apply stack method.

The steps are as follows :-

• For this, we can take 10 similar 50 paise coins.

• Now we can stack then just one over other at a column.

• Then by using metre scale we can measure the length of the column.

(Kindly measure the appropriate value for getting correct result)

• After we get the length of the stack, we can divide that length by 10.

In this way we can get the width of a 50 paise coin.

'A piece of Supplementary Counsel' :-

Actually for appropriate measuring of coins we use Vernier Calliper or a Micrometer. By using any of these gadgets we get the exact value.
