If a ball is thrown vertically upward from the point p at the ground and return to the same. After going 10 metre of height.

Than,

The net displacement (S) = Final position - initial position .

The net displacement will be zero because the initial and final position of body is same.

While ,

Net distance travelled by body = total length of the path travelled =

= distance move from point P to Q + distance move from point Q to p

= 10 m + 10 m

=20 Meter
