Given :  a car travels 20 meter in first 15 seconds,

40 meter in next 15 seconds

10 meters in the next 15 seconds

To Find : Speed after 15 seconds,

next 15 seconds and

in the next 15 seconds.

Solution:

Speed = Distance / time

Speed in first 15 secs  = 20/15  = 4/3   = 1.333  m/s

Speed in next 15 secs  = 40/15  = 8/3  =  2.667 m/s

Speed in last 15 secs   =  10/15  = 2/3  =  0.667  m/s

Speed in first 30 secs  =  (20 + 40)/(15 + 15)  = 2 m/s

Speed in last 30 sec  = (40 + 10)/(15 + 15) = 50/30 = 5/3  = 1.667 m/s

Speed in total 45 sec = (20 + 40 + 10)/(15 + 15 + 15) = 70/45 = 14/9 m/s
