Answer:

m=22

Step-by-step explanation:

No. of students =m

No. of pens distributed to each student =3

Total no of pens distributed = 3*m= 3m

Total pens =70

Pens which are left =4

Total no of pens distributed =70-4= 66

m = number of students in class

3m =66

m= 66/3= 22

m=22

Solution :-

given that, total students in class are m .

and,

→ Total pens distributed = 70 pens

also,

→ Each students gets pen = 3 pen

→ Pen left = 4 pen .

So,

→ Total students * Each students gets pen + Left pen = 70

→ m * 3 + 4 = 70

→ 3m + 4 = 70

→ 3m = 70 - 4

→ 3m = 66

→ m = 22 (Ans.)

Hence, the value of m is equal to 22 .
