Suppose a player hits a ball and the ball goes up high in the sky. The player runs and catches the ball before touching the ground. So my question is which of them will have higher displacement (the player or the ball)? Give reasons in support of the answer...

Both will have equal displacement because the initial and the final point of both player and ball was same

singhekamjot: And thanks for marking brainliest
varshneysamyakoxg8tj: :)
gsshhhh: Its the wrong answer
varshneysamyakoxg8tj: but how
varshneysamyakoxg8tj: can u give a valid reason that this answer is wrong
gsshhhh: Displacement takes in direction also the player is not coming back at his position while catching the ball so the catchers displacement is not 0 but the ball is going up and down so the ball is coming back on its position so displacement of the.ball is 0
singhekamjot: The ball has gone in forward direction otherwise the player would not have to move
singhekamjot: And in question there it is also given that the player runs
gsshhhh: This is the wrong answer i dint know and plz dont argue
varshneysamyakoxg8tj: no the displacement of the ball can't be 0 bro as it is not coming back at it's intial position and the displacement means that the player has gone in a particular direction, as he throws the ball he follows it and thus catches the ball, at that time the ball and the player have same displacement. Both will be different if it was given that the ball has touched the ground. Hope u might be able tu understand that some part of your question is wrong by this explanation

The player because when the ball goes up and then go down the displacement is 0 but the player do not comes back to his position
