suppose an examiner give you different mixtures and ask you to differentiate between the salts and compounds. What are the methods you want to identify the mixtures.

Moreover, Salt compound can be tested my mixing it in water and passing electricity through the aqueous solution. Firstly, there should be no precipitate formed when salt is mixed , and electricity should pass easily. Next, if neither the blue litmus turns red nor the red litmus turns blue , then also it can be taken as salt.

But in this question we don't know whether the other compound is neutral or not, whether its miscible or not, hence at least one property of compound is required.
