Given:

A's speed=9 km/h

To find:

B's speed in m/s

Solution:

The required speed of B is 2.7 m/s

We can obtain the speed by substituting the value of time.

Let T hours be taken by A to cover the distance D.

So, now the time taken by A=distance covered/ A's speed

Using the values,

T=D/9 (1)

We know that B takes 10% less time than A.

So, B's time=T-10% of T

=T-T/10

=9T/10

=0.9T

Now, B's speed=distance covered by the time taken

B's speed=D/0.9T (2)

Substituting the value of T from (1), we get

B's speed=D/0.9(D/9)

=10D/9×9/D

=10 km/h

Now we will convert this speed into m/s.

So, B's required speed=10×5/18

=2.7 m/s

Therefore, the required speed of B is 2.7 m/s.
