suppose in a house there are four bulbs of 100W each, six of 60W each, six of 40W each are used. All of them are used for 3 hours in a day. Calculate how much of the electricity is used in a month (30 days), and calculate the electric bill if one unit costs 3.50/-​

Power of 4 bulbs = 4 * 100 = 400 W

Power of 6 bulbs = 6 * 60 = 360 W

Power of 6 bulbs = 6 * 40 = 240 W

Hence , total power used per second = 400 + 360 + 240 = 1000 W

Now , if they are used for 3 hours for one month ,

Then total power = 1000 * 3 * 60 * 60 * 30 = 324000000 Watts .

Now , 324000000 Watts = 324000000 / 3.6 * 10⁶

=) 90 Units

So , total cost = 90 * 3.5 Rs

= 315 Rs
