suppose in a house there are four bulbs of 100W each, six of 60W each, six of 40W each are used. All of them are used for 3 hours in a day. Calculate how much of the electricity is used in a month (30 days), and calculate the electric bill if one unit costs 3.50/-

Answer:
Power of 4 bulbs = 4 * 100 = 400 W
Power of 6 bulbs = 6 * 60 = 360 W
Power of 6 bulbs = 6 * 40 = 240 W
Hence , total power used per second = 400 + 360 + 240 = 1000 W
Now , if they are used for 3 hours for one month ,
Then total power = 1000 * 3 * 60 * 60 * 30 = 324000000 Watts .
Now , 324000000 Watts = 324000000 / 3.6 * 10⁶
=) 90 Units
So , total cost = 90 * 3.5 Rs
= 315 Rs
