Answer:

1.5 sec

60 m

Step-by-step explanation:

Suppose that a ball is thrown straight up into the air and its height after t second is

2

4 + 48t −16t meters. Determine how long it will take for the ball to reach its maximum

height and determined the maximum height.

Correction

height after t second is    = 24 + 48t - 16t²

ball will come back to ground when h = 0

24 + 48t - 16t² = 0

2t² - 6t - 3 = 0

t = (6 ±√(36 +24))/4

=> t = (6 ± 7.75)/4

=> t = 13.75/4   or t = -0.44

=> t = 3.44

t = -0.44 is time represntation if ball has been thrown from ground

then total time taken to come back at ground was = 3.44 - (-0.44)

= 3.88 sec

time for peak including 0.44 time = 3.88/2 = 1.94 sec

Max height would be at = 1.94 - 0.44 = 1.5 sec

Max Height = 24 + 48t - 16t²

= 24 + 48*1.5 -16*(1.5)²

= 24 + 72 - 36

= 60 m
