suppose that our soccer player is out of action with an injury for several weeks. when he returns, he only scores on 5 of his next 10 penalty kicks. is this evidence that his success rate is now less than 84%? explain.

Thank you for asking this question. Here is your answer:

84^4 * (1-.84) = 0.07966 (we got this using the geometric probability)

P (X<= 5) = binomial (10, 0.84, 5) = 0.0130

So if the success rate of the player continues to be 84% the probability would be 5 and 10 penalty kicks and will still remain at 0.0130 (this is quite low)

So finally we can say that it has fallen below 84%.
