Given :- suppose that the gurukul school is hoping to acquire a new rectangular piece of property measuring 60 feet × 40 feet as an addition to the school campus. currently contains 6 trees as shown as circles with their centres spaced 20 feet apart.

To Find :- What percent of the rectangle has been covered by the circles ?

Answer :-

→ Area of rectangle = 60 * 40 = 2400 feet² .

now,

→ Area covered by 6 circles = 6 * πr² = 6 * 3.14 * (20/2)² = 6 * 3.14 * 100 = 6 * 314 = 1884 feet² .

then,

→ % Rectangle area covered by circles = (1884 * 100) / 2400 = 78.5 % (Ans.)
