I would suggest my friend to not buy an exotic pet. Buying an exotic pet is not a good idea as it is very unethical.
- Buying an exotic pet is unethical for many reasons, such as:
- Buying an exotic pet displaces it from its natural habitat and it may not be able to adapt to new surroundings.
- Exotic animals are often caught through illegal means which include poaching and capturing these animals in their infant stage. They are often sold on black markets, even after the government of their particular country bans their sale. (For example: Cheetahs in Somaliland).
- Tarsiers are not meant for being kept as exotic pets. Most Tarsiers die within a few days of captivity due to the lack of availability of their particular diet.
- Moreover, Tarsiers are mostly active during the night, so they would not make good pets.
Hence, I would strongly advise my friend against buying a tarsier as an exotic pet as I do not think it is a good idea.
