According to studies by the World Wildlife Fund and the Global Tiger Forum, about 70% of the world's tiger population are found in India and it continues to be on the rise.

The tiger plays a very important role in the health and diversity of our ecosystem. Tigers are at the top of the food chain and keeps the population of hoofed mammals in control, maintaining the balance of green cover which these ungulates feed upon.

The green cover of plants and trees are required for a healthy ecosystem. Hence it can be said that a healthy balance of animals is required to maintain our forests.
