Suppose the two opposite corners of an 8x8 chessboard are removed. What are the maximum number of 2x1 dominos that can be placed on the chessboard?

A) 28 B) 29 C) 30 D) 31

As you are saying that in a chessboard with the opposite corners are removed in which in anyway can't be covered in 2x1 dominoes. And as we know that there are dominos are placed on black and red squares and if opposite corners are removed, then 2 black or 2 red squares are removed and there should be an equal amount of read and black squares but if we remove them there will be a short of them and thus the answer to this question will be that there is uneven red and black squares so there might be 30 to 32 squares. So in my opinion you can choose third option.
