Hey there !

Thanks for the question !

Solution:

Per Capita Income = Total Income / Total Number of population

In the question, the given population is 4 as the per capita income is calculated for 4 people.

Given Information:

  • Per Capita Income = $ 15000
  • Income of 1st Family = $ 10000
  • Income of 2nd Family = $ 20000
  • Income of 3rd Family = $ 12000

To Find:

  • Income of 4th Family = ? ( x )

Illustration:

So Per Capita Income = Income of ( 1st + 2nd + 3rd + 4th ) Families / 4

=> $ 15000 = $ ( 10000 + 20000 + 12000 + x ) / 4

=> $ 15000 × 4 = $ ( 42000 + x )

=> $ 60000 = $ 42000 + $ x

=> $ x = $ 60000 - $ 42000

=> $ x = 18000

Hence the income of the 4th family is $ 18000.

Hope my answer helped !

Answer:

10000+20000+12000+x/4=15000

42000+x=60000

x=18000.

income of fourth family is 18000.
