To find : Position of elevator after 45 sec

Solution:

elevator begin to descends from 15m above the ground

=> initial position = + 15  m

elevator descends at a rate of 5 metre per minute

=> elevator descend in 60 secs  = 5  m

=>  elevator descend in 1 secs  = 5 /60  m

=> elevator descend in 45 secs  = 45 * 5 / 60  = 3.75 m

Position of elevator after 45 sec  = 15  - 3.75  =  11.25 m

Position of elevator is 11.25 m above ground  after 45 secs
