Speed of Submarine=4m/min

No of minutes in one hour=60 minutes

Therefore, Distance vertically covered by the submarine=4*60=240m

Also, as the distance covered downwards is expressed with a negative integer, answer to A= -240m

That means it will be 240 m below water

Now, Speed of Submarine moving upwards=3m/min

Distance covered by it in 12 minutes=3*12=36m

Now, the current distance=58m below water

Distance below water is to be expressed with a negative integer

So, the current distance below water will be -58m

After 12 min the distance will be=-58+36=-22m

As the distance is in negative, it means that the submarine will be 22m below water after 12min
