Fuel is the source of heat.
There are three kinds of fuel namely solid, liquid and gas. Ideal fuel must have the following qualities:
• it must have high calorific value,
• must burn easily
• should be easy to transport
• should have proper ignition temperature
• must not produce any harmful gases while burning When compared to cow dung and coal, LPG has all the above qualities.
It has more calorific value than cow dung which means it produces more heat. It can burn easily leaving behind no harmful gas.

LPG will be preferred out of all to boil a given quantity of water. This is because it has the highest calorific value in all and does not cause pollution on burning.
