Suppose you are holding a bucket. What kinds of forces are applied on bucket? Think and
write how these forces do not change the motion of bucket.

Gravitational force is acting downwards, and muscular force is applied by the hands lifting bucket upwards. Although these forces are acting on the bucket no change is found in its state of motion because the two forces are in the opposite direction & hence balancing each other. As a result net force is zero.
