If you didn’t get food for lunch, you would feel weak and tired. This is due to your blood glucose levels decreasing. As glucose levels drop, organs which consume a lot of energy, such as your brain, become starved of glucose. As a result the cells don’t function as well. However you will not die if you skip lunch. The decrease in blood glucose prompts the release of insulin, which causes the liver to convert stored glycogen into glucose in order raise blood glucose levels till you eat again.
