Given : 5 identical cardboards, and out of those 5 card boards on 3 cardboard cover a red colour paper and on remaining two card board  put a coloured tape all around it’s boundary.

To Find : the measure of tape and red paper which measure you need to calculate, perimeter or area

Solution:

red colour paper and coloured tape has to cover complete surface area of card board

Hence we need to find area

Area of one card board = A

Area of 3 card board = 3A

red colour paper = 3A

Area of 2 card board = 2A

colour tape = 2A

Area of card board  A = 2( lb + bh + lh)

l = length , b = breadth , h = height

for cubical

Area of card board A   = 6a²

a = side of card board
